Brad Pitt, Hollywood Come to Oakland for "Moneyball" World Premiere, Benefitting Children's Hospital Oakland and Stand Up to Cancer Through Oakland A's Community Fund

Oakland, Calif. – Hollywood royalty as well as Bay Area luminaries came out for the world-premiere of Moneyball -- starring  Brad Pitt, Jonah Hill and Philip Seymour Hoffman -- at a benefit for Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland and Stand Up to Cancer, held through the Oakland A’s Community Foundation. The event raised $374,000 for the two charities. 

The movie is based on the 2003 New York Times best-seller of the same name by Berkeley author and Vanity Fair contributing editor Michael Lewis, and tells the story of

Prior to the screening, Children’s Hospital cancer patients and their families were hosted back stage for a meet and greet with Brad Pitt. The event was held at Oakland’s historic Paramount Theatre and was followed by a VIP reception at the Fox Theater.
