Playrooms
Two cheerful playrooms stocked with goodies, games and art projects offer fun activities to help kids cope with the stress of being in the hospital. The playrooms are “no-procedure zones” where kids can get away from all the shots and probes required by their medical care. Child Life specialists staff the playrooms to help guide and support the kids. But no one gets left out of the fun; Child Life staff will bring activities to the bedside of kids who can't come to the playroom.
Teen Lounge
Hey, look, being a teen is different. You just don’t understand. But in the Teen Lounge at Children’s Hospital, we do understand. That’s why the lounge is there, to give the teens a place to hang out, commiserate, express themselves, play bingo or foosball, or maybe just chill. A state-of-the-art audio/video entertainment center with tons of movies and games on demand doesn’t hurt either.
Just another way we help kids cope with the stress of being in the hospital, with Child Life staff, student interns and skilled and caring volunteers from the community at the ready.
