Zach, center, calls Dr. Peter Sun “my friend.” Dr. Sun met Zach and the Sherak family in 2001 when he removed a large portion of Zach’s brain tumor. After the surgery, Zach made Dr. Sun a card that says “Thank you for saving my life.” His nurse, Sue Ditmyer, at left, also received a card. Hers says “Thank you for saving my brain.”
