Pediatric Rehabilitation
The Pediatric Rehabilitation team at Children’s Hospital & Research Center Oakland provides a comprehensive, integrated approach to caring for children, from birth through adolescence, who require hospitalization for medical reasons related to disability, or need intensive rehabilitation following illness or accident that has caused a loss of function. Our collaborative team approach includes occupational therapists (OT), physical therapists (PT), speech and language pathologists, hand therapists, audiologists, physiatrists, orthopedic specialists, rehabilitation nurses and social workers. This comprehensive approach assures that children will return to their previous functional status as quickly as possible or will gain the ability to do things they were not able to learn on their own.
