Scott Hoffinger, MD Dr. Hoffinger is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery, a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, as well as the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, the American Academy for Cerebral Palsy and Developmental Medicine and the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is currently serving on the board of the Northern California Skeletal Dysplasia Clinic. Dr. Hoffinger’s skill as a clinician and teacher has been recognized by the residents at The University of California, San Francisco, who presented him with the Resident Teaching Award in 1995. He is also an associate professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco and is frequently invited to give lectures at conferences and meetings throughout the Bay Area. Dr. Hoffinger was the medical staff vice at Children’s Hospital in 2003. |

Dr. Nirav K. Pandya joined the Pediatric Orthopaedic Department at Children’s Hospital and Research Center Oakland in September 2011. His areas of interest include sports medicine, arthroscopy, pediatric trauma, and disorders of the hip as well as general pediatric orthopaedics. Originally from Chicago, Dr. Pandya received his undergraduate degree from the University of Chicago where he was elected to the Phi Beta Kappa honor society. While at the University of Chicago, Dr. Pandya was a member of the track and field team, and was elected captain his senior year. He remains one of the top 10 triple jumpers in the school’s history. He then received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. While in medical school, he served as an assistant coach for the University of Chicago track and field team, coaching several national qualifiers. Dr. Pandya then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery residency at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He served as academic chief resident his final year, and was the recipient of the DeForest Willard Award for outstanding performance. He then completed a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic surgery at Rady Children’s Hospital in San Diego where he was awarded the Lena Sefton Clark endowed fellowship award. Dr. Pandya has authored over 30 peer-reviewed publications and multiple book chapters, and has spoken at several national conferences. |

Dr. Policy received his MD from the College of Medicine at Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio. He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery residency at Stanford University and a Pediatric Orthopaedic fellowship at Shriners Hospital in Portland, Oregon where he received specialized training in scoliosis surgery as well as Pediatric Orthopaedics. Since joining the Children's Hospital Oakland Orthopaedic group in 1999, he has taken the Scoliosis program to a new level by applying the most current surgical techniques. He has changed the care of scoliosis at Children’s by performing some surgeries endoscopically, and now performs a scoliosis correction with multiple pedicle screw fixation, which provides excellent results with a single approach. Dr. Policy has also allowed the Children's group to offer more sports medicine surgery by using a voice activated computer in the operating room while he performs arthroscopy. Jim has also helped grow and improve the Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Program at Children’s Hospital in Oakland. |

Tom was born in and has lived in the Bay Area for many years. He attended UC Berkeley and earned an Bachelor’s in Integrative Biology in 2004. Tom then went on to earn a Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Samuel Merritt University in 2009. Tom has received a certification in PNF, a manual therapy technique utilized for developing proper muscle patterns, strength and flexibility. Tom has worked in the field of Pediatric Sports Medicine since 2009 and has helped athletes from a variety of sports return to their activities, including basketball, football, swimming, soccer, volleyball, baseball, hockey and track. The Children’s Hospital Sports Medicine Center has allowed Tom to further his knowledge in a great environment learning from the experts in pediatric sports rehabilitation. |

Caron's moto is that she will try any sport at least once. Some of her favorite sports include skateboarding, tennis, mountain and road biking, running, and adventure racing. In High School, Caron played tennis and was a league champion for doubles advancing on to CIF. She also threw shot put and discus. In College, Caron played tennis, raced bikes and adventure raced. She was invited to the NCAA Mountain Biking Championships. In addition to her physical therapy experience, Caron worked as a student Athletic Trainer for the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps sports teams. She has also done private tennis and skateboard lessons for children. Caron has a passion for giving back to the community and has developed programs for children and their families to exercise and bond together. |

In addition to her physical therapy experience Stacy has also worked with Loyola Marymount University's athletic teams. Stacy's love for sport and passion to help people has brought her to northern California to work at the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes. Stacy draws on her different experiences, as a patient and a clinician, to relate to her patients and to return them to function in a safe and effective manner. |

Kelli Adams has been with Childrens Hospital and Research Center Oakland since July 2009. Kelli went to Xavier University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training in 1999 and San Jose State University with a Master of Arts Degree in Kinesiology in 2002. She became a licensed physical therapist assistant in the Fall of 2007. She has worked with Pop Warner Football and various high school sports, ranging from football to softball and wrestling, in the Bay Area since 2001. Kelli works in the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes both in the rehab clinic as well as in the Orthopedic clinic to assist the sports medicine physicians. She is currently the head Athletic Trainer for Albany High School. Kelli's hobbies include Brazilian and Latin dance. |

Mikel graduated from the San Jose State University in 2009 with a B.S. in Athletic Training and Minor in African-American Studies. The Bay Area native (and Amador Valley High alum) is an active member of the NATA and California Athletic Trainer’s Association. He has worked with competitive and recreational young athletes in a variety of sports including basketball, wrestling, volleyball, softball and gymnastics. Mikel’s professional interests include sports performance nutrition and
athletic training in non-traditional sports settings. An active sportsman,
his leisure time is spent white water rafting, skydiving, snowboarding, hang
gliding, or rock climbing. |

Jamie earned his Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from UC Davis in 2003, and became a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 2004. In addition to working as an Athletic Trainer at the Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes, he is also the Head Athletic Trainer at Berkeley High School. Jamie has worked at Berkeley High school since 2005 and he also teaches the Sports Medicine class. In 2008 Jamie became a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Jamie loves working with athletes of all ages and sports, especially in baseball, football, wrestling, and swimming. He works hard with his athletes to get them FIT, FAST and STRONG for their sport! |

Daniel received his BS in Physical Education from the National School of Physical Education Romero Brest in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1991. In 2010 he earned a Master Degree in Kinesiology from the California State University. |
